Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Black Widow. The Independent UK reports this morning.
The new film is the first standalone adventure for Scarlett Johansson’s character Natasha Romanoff.
The film takes place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, meaning it’ll follow on directly after Captain America: Civil War.
Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland, best known for Nazi drama Lore, directs the film, which will also star Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and Stranger Things‘ David Harbour.
Speaking about the film, Johansson told The Hollywood Reporter that the film packs “a big punch” and that it’s been “liberating in a way” to act as executive producer for the first time for a Marvel film.
Black Widow will be released in cinemas on 1 May, 2020.
