We are a culture of the mind and yet deep down in the places that cannot be known through words, we crave something greater. An abstraction. Like the amorphous rays glowing through our consciousness as we drift through the hypnogogic dreams of our underworld, our souls reach and yearn.
Our hearts call to us with a depth that shatters what our rationale can hold, and we retreat into a haze of fear masquerading as consumption.
Media contorts our need and begs us pay to feel, through the eyes of another, what we choose to deny in our own life.
Mind alone will not conquer our troubles for it is logic unchecked by the heart that has led us astray.
Grossly misunderstood is this stance as I call forward a great need to feel and act from our hearts. A meta-form to be sure, but all the more real, nonetheless.
It is not greater intellect that will lead us down to the luscious shores of the promised land, but a synthesis of our whole being that will guide us. And sadly, it is our hearts that have been left abandoned. Neglected and frowned upon as a nuisance seeking to halt our progress towards our rightful place as Gods.
To set forth a new path for our species, we must honor the whole of our experience and create true integration.
When we learn to move across the spectrum of our unlocked capacities, we are given the vast opportunity to be as we may choose in any moment. No longer are we locked in an expression that has been conditioned into us. We can dance and transform from moment to moment.
We must grow the capacity of our hearts to match the incredible rate at which we expand technologically. We must allow ourselves to feel more deeply in order to survive.
The progress of our culture is not to be demonized and nor is the mind which has birthed it. But just as any power that grows without checks and balances, it will become tyrannical if we don’t call forward the vast riches of the heart expressed.
It is said that the future is feminine.
If feminine means to be led more by the feelings of our hearts than the logic of our minds, then I must agree.
