For as long as I can remember, my family has always been in a constant state of change. The changes have been welcomed, dreaded, anticipated, and unexpected. Additions have been made, and subtractions have occurred. Marriages, divorces, separations, births, and deaths. When people leave the family, sometimes they stay in touch and other times we honor their memories. When additions are made, we celebrate the gift of new life and cheer when vows are exchanged. Sometimes accepting an addition isn’t easy. Saying goodbye to a subtraction is sad. But no matter what happens, two things are certain: change and love.
