A mission takes a lot of bad turns in ‘Envoys’
Last time on Star Trek: Lower Decks, we met some of the characters of this new show. We also got to see the jobs they had, and what their role was on this ship. Some of them had ambition, while others not so much. Boimler went on a mission with Mariner, and things went bad fast. Meanwhile a crisis had befallen the ship, with no cure in sight. Thanks to Boimler and Mariner though, everyone on the ship was saved. As this episode came to a close, it looked like Boimler had made a few new friends. Now a high profile mission takes a ton of surprise turns in ‘Envoys’. I was able to watch a screener of this episode and here is what I thought of it.

You can read the premise for ‘Envoys’ here:
After a high profile mission goes awry, Boimler is further plagued with self-doubt when Mariner proves herself to be a more naturally talented sci-fi badass than he. Rutherford quits his job in engineering and explores other departments on the U.S.S. Cerritos.

Mariner joins Boimler on a high profile mission in ‘Envoys’. Things take a bad turn fast when they make a quick stop on a nearby planet. Boimler is freaking out about what happens, while Mariner is surprisingly calm. When things go from bad to worse, Boimler begins to doubt his career choices. Thanks to quick thinking with a Ferengi though, he ends up deciding Starfleet is for him after all.
