Has anything changed the way businesses are run over the last ten years more than apps? Probably not. They’re ubiquitous. But yet there are still some companies that aren’t maximising their organisational potential. Here are some of the best types of organisational apps you have must use.

1. Share files instantly. If your business relies on colleagues who are always on the move, then you need an app that allows them to send and receive documents instantaneously. Fortunately, there are a lot of options out there, including apps like Bump. With these apps, you can share just about anything, including calendars, contacts, and so on. You can also use them over mobile and wifi networks.
2. Organise receipts. Many businesses out there depend on keeping a record of receipts so that if they are ever audited, they have evidence that they did indeed make those purchases. In the olden day, businesses kept receipts in a filing cabinet somewhere, and then when it came time to do the accounts, rifled through them to see how much had been spent. Fortunately, thanks to mobile apps, those days are long gone. Now firms can instantly upload and automatically scan receipts. Apps like Expensify has looks that allow companies to scan receipts on virtually any platform. It’ll even sync up with Quickbooks.
3. Love your fax machine. The fax machine might sound like an old-school device, but thanks to the advent of the mobile fax app, it’s making a return. Rather than being a separate entity with its own protocols, fax machines are being subsumed into the mobile world, something which is especially helpful for traditional businesses trying to go digital. Not only do these apps help users receive faxes to their mobiles, but they also allow them to send them too, just like they might a text. This helps to speed up the process, allowing companies to get more out of their fax machines.
4. Manage employee registration. It’s often a legal requirement to know where your workforce is at any given time. As a result, most large firms operate a keycard system or place a sign-in-and-out sheet at the front desk. The problem with these methods is that they’re cumbersome and expensive. Far better would be to have colleagues check in and out automatically. Apps like Simple In/Out is a way for managers to check where their employees are automatically. Employees can leave simple messages, such as, “away from the office,” or “out on a call.” These apps are available across both Apple and Android devices.
5. Social media aggregators. Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of all your company’s activities on social media, especially if you have multiple accounts and account managers. It can be hard to keep up, but apps like Sprout Social, allow businesses to publish content across platforms. These apps usually aren’t free, but they do make the business of keeping track of what has been posted (and when) a lot more straightforward.
